About - Cat Association of Tasmania:
History (forthcoming)
Goals
- To promote in every way the general improvement of the standard, exhibition
and welfare of cats.
- To preserve the probity of the cat fancy by:
- Ensuring the integrity of its registry.
- Ensuring the training of its judges to A.C.F. nationally accepted standards.
- To take all measures to ensure that the interests of the general public in relation to the cat fancy are observed, including the C.A.T. Cattery Accreditation Scheme.
- To allow all members input into the function of the C.A.T. by virtue of:
- Committee meetings open to all observers.
- Election of 'independant' and Club delegates directly responsible to the membership to represent their interests in decision making.
- To provide an efficient service for the membership,
with a rapid turn around of registrations.
Committee
- C.A.T has a robust committee system, meetings may be attended by representatives of affiliate organisations and C.A.T. members.
- Due to a strong belief in the democratic process, affiliation delegates are allowed input with committee deliberations often causing much debate. This can be a time consuming process, but at the end of the day all points of view have been expressed and discussed and rare conflicts are often resolved.
- Committee members are elected on an tri-annual basis and any member of C.A.T. may nominate for election.
